New Delhi, July 11, 2025: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing, Ravneet Singh Bittu, on Friday launched a sharp attack on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over his alleged “derogatory and irresponsible” comments targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Bittu condemned Mann’s remarks, calling them “disgraceful and unbecoming of a constitutional office bearer,” and demanded that an FIR be lodged against the Punjab Chief Minister.
In a strongly worded statement issued in New Delhi, Bittu criticized Mann for reportedly referring to Amit Shah as “Tadipaar” — a term he described as highly inappropriate and disrespectful.
“Such language is not only offensive but also undermines the dignity of the office of the Chief Minister,” Bittu said, calling Mann “ill-informed and unfit to hold public office.”He accused Mann of repeatedly lowering the standards of political discourse and exhibiting a complete lack of decorum in public life.
“Mann lacks the basic decency expected from a leader. His remarks reflect poor taste and a disturbing disregard for democratic norms,” he stated.
Addressing any perceived closeness between Amit Shah and Bhagwant Mann, Bittu clarified that the Union Home Minister’s coordination with state leaders—particularly in strategically sensitive border states like Punjab—is strictly professional and related to national security.
“The ongoing Operation Sindoor against Pakistan is of national importance, and Shah’s engagement with state authorities should not be misrepresented as personal proximity,” he said.
Bittu further alleged that Mann’s conduct raises concerns about his priorities and associations, claiming it may be weakening Punjab’s internal security.
He criticized Mann’s recent comments in the Punjab Assembly mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s international visits, describing them as “immature and misleading.”
“It’s unfortunate that the Chief Minister ridicules India’s diplomatic efforts without understanding their importance. These visits play a vital role in strengthening trade, technology, and strategic ties,” Bittu said, referring to the Prime Minister’s current participation in the BRICS Summit.
Concluding his statement, Bittu called on law enforcement to take legal action against CM Bhagwant Mann for insulting a constitutional authority and attempting to mislead the public through inappropriate public statements.
