Every citizen’s role is crucial in building a drug-free society: Dr. Gosal
Ferozepur, July 21, 2025: Dr. Amandeep Kaur Gosal, Coordinator of the Drug-Free Campaign, conducted awareness programs in villages Meera Shah Noor, Haji Wala, and Basti Bulande Wali, under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Yatra (Drug-Free Campaign) in Ferozepur Urban constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gosal emphasised that creating a drug-free society requires the active participation of every citizen. She stated that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s mission against drugs is receiving strong public support, and many youth are voluntarily giving up drug abuse.
She said the primary objective of the campaign is to eliminate drugs from every village and every street with the cooperation of all sections of society. The Punjab government is taking strict action against drug peddlers and also making efforts to rehabilitate youth caught in the grip of addiction so they can return to a life of dignity and purpose.
Appealing to the people, especially the youth, Dr. Gosal urged them to stay away from drugs and play an active role in ridding society of this menace. She further administered an oath to the villagers to ensure that drugs are not sold in their areas and to spread awareness among others.
Among those present were Dalair Singh (Vice Coordinator), Kuldeep Singh Cheema (District Social Media Secretary), Manpreet Singh, Subeg Singh, Massa Singh, Gagandeep Singh (Block President), Gurnaib Singh, Sajjan Singh, Manjit Singh (Sarpanch), along with a large number of villagers.
