Punjab Congress protests at EC office in Chandigarh, cites ‘H-Files’ to allege BJP stole Haryana polls; party seeks judicial probe
Chandigarh, November 6, 2025:
The Punjab Congress staged a protest outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh alleging large‑scale vote manipulation in the Haryana Assembly elections with the connivance of the poll body, and demanded a judicial inquiry into what it called an assault on democratic institutions. Party leaders said Rahul Gandhi’s recently presented “H‑Files” details how the electoral process was subverted and the people’s mandate overturned through a coordinated conspiracy, which they asserted implicated the BJP and the Election Commission.
Addressing the media, Congress functionaries reiterated that the “H‑Files” alleges over 25 lakh bogus votes—about 12.5% of Haryana’s electorate—were added or altered to tilt results, citing instances such as a woman’s name appearing 223 times in two booths of Dhakola village and a Brazilian model’s photograph being used multiple times under different names across several polling stations. They further alleged the Election Commission discontinued its de‑duplication software used to detect duplicate and photo‑similar entries and deleted around 3.5 lakh voters—purportedly mostly Congress supporters—before polling, which they said exemplified targeted manipulation of rolls.
Congress leaders also flagged what they termed highly irregular postal ballot trends—claiming Congress led on 73 seats while the BJP led on 17—presented as evidence suggestive of post‑count tampering and systemic subversion of the vote, and they called for immediate accountability from the poll body and the ruling party. Declaring the alleged “vote chori” a betrayal of every Indian voter’s faith in free and fair elections, the party vowed to continue nationwide protests until transparency is restored and responsibility for the purported fraud is fixed through an independent probe.
Leaders present at the demonstration included Gagandeep Singh Bobby (convener, RGPRS), Kuljit Singh Bedi (Deputy Mayor, Mohali), Ranjit Singh Jeeti Padiyal, Karanbir Singh Ruby Sidhu, Happy Khehra, Vipin Sharma, Amit (Dera Bassi), Gian Singh, Jung Bahadur (former SC Department chairman), Ramandeep Narula, Jatinder Kumar (former NSUI president), and Aman Dhaipi, among others, who joined workers in raising slogans against the BJP government and the Election Commission.
