MAGSIPA conducts Yova Aapda Mitra Training Progarm, trains 150 NSS volunteers
Ferozepur, November 17, 2025 - The second day of the Yuva Aapda Mitra Training program, a joint initiative by the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MAGSIPA), Chandigarh, and the District Administration, was successfully conducted at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBS-SU), Ferozepur.
The training was held under the guidance of Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Ms. Deepshikha Sharma, who emphasized the need to equip youth for disaster preparedness and community safety.
In accordance with the directions of Dalbir Singh, General Manager of Disaster Management at MAGSIPA, the students were provided with crucial information on disaster management, emergency response, first aid, and search and rescue operations.
A team from MAGSIP A, Chandigarh, including Amrinder Singh, Aman Mankotia, Ramandeep Singh, Sumit Singh, Mahikpreet Singh, Narinder Singh Johnson, and Jasvir Singh, conducted practical drills, demonstrations, and interactive sessions throughout the day.
Approximately 150 NSS volunteers participated in the training, learning primary techniques for response and rescue operations. The program is designed to empower the youth to act as first responders during any natural calamity or emergency in the future.
The District Administration and the University Management commended the active participation of the volunteers, stating that the youth can play a vital role in making society stronger and safer.
