Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh Summoned by ED in FEMA Case; Unlikely to Appear on Feb 12 Due to Surgery

Chandigarh, February 11, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in connection with a case linked to the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), sources said.
According to information available, Captain Amarinder Singh has been asked to appear before the central agency on February 12. However, sources close to the former Chief Minister indicated that he is unlikely to join the hearing as he recently underwent knee surgery at Fortis Hospital and is currently recovering.
Meanwhile, responding to the ED summons, Raninder Singh, son of Captain Amarinder Singh, said the family would fully cooperate with the authorities.
“As law-abiding citizens, we will fully cooperate with every investigation agency. We have absolute faith in the rule of law and are confident that truth and justice will prevail,” Raninder Singh said in a statement.

There has been no official statement yet from the Enforcement Directorate regarding further proceedings in the matter.
