Four drug traffickers arrested with 22.295 Kg heroin, Rs 2.05 lakh drug money, and firearms
Ferozepur, February 14, 2026: Under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (War Against Drugs) campaign, Punjab Police have achieved a major success by arresting four accused involved in large-scale drug trafficking. After swiftly working for a full month, the operation led to the recovery of 22 kg 295 grams of heroin, a Hyundai i-20 car, Rs 2.05 lakh drug money, two Glock pistols, two magazines, and four live cartridges.

The accused identified and arrested are - Pratap Singh (27), son of Sarwan Singh, resident of Kilche, PS Sadar Ferozepur; Jagjit Singh alias Jagga (26), son of Karnail Singh, resident of Arniwala, District Fazilka; Malook Singh alias Love (29), son of Sohan Singh, resident of Gattu Kilche, PS Mamdot, District Ferozepur; and Kirandeep Singh alias Deep (36), son of Surjit Singh, resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Mallanwala Road, PS City Ferozepur.
Sharing details with the media, Snehdeep Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ferozepur Range, said the action was taken as per the directions of the Punjab Government and the Director General of Police, Punjab, to completely eradicate drugs, drug smugglers, anti-social and criminal elements from the district, with the efforts of SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu and his team along with BSF 99 Bn. So far, 308 kg heroin has been recovered under the tutelage of SSP.
As part of the campaign, special police teams were constituted under the supervision of senior officers and deployed across the district. In this sequence, a team of the CIA Staff Zira, led by SI Gurmeet Singh, achieved a breakthrough while conducting naka checking and patrolling based on specific intelligence input.
During the operation near the brick kiln area of village Dulcheeke, police arrested Pratap Singh, Jagjit Singh alias Jagga, Malook Singh alias Love, and Kirandeep Singh alias Deep. From their possession, 2.717 kg of heroin, four mobile phones, and a Hyundai i-20 car (HR-30-Q-3251) were recovered. Additionally, two Glock pistols with two magazines and four live 9 mm cartridges were also seized.
Based on further investigation and the disclosure statement of accused Pratap Singh, police conducted a search of his farmhouse, from where 19.578 kg heroin and ₹2.05 lakh drug money were recovered, taking the total recovery to 22.295 kg heroin.
A case under the NDPS and Arms Act has been registered at the Police Station Sadar, Ferozepur. Further investigation is underway to identify backwards and forward linkages.
Police also revealed that some of the accused have previous criminal records under the NDPS Act in districts Fazilka, Faridkot, Kotkapura, Jalandhar Commissionerate, and Ferozepur. Partap Singh is involved in one case of dispute, Jagjit Singh in the NDPS Act of 10 gm heroin, Malook Singh in 30 gm heroin, 160 gm heroin, 11 kg heroin and 5 gm heroin, while there is no criminal record of Kirandeep Singh alias Deep.
DIG Snehdeep Sharma reiterated that Ferozepur Police remain fully committed to eliminating drug networks and that strict action will continue against those involved in narcotics trafficking under the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign.
