Speaker Sandhwan inaugurates new office in Kotkapura with religious ceremonies
Kotkapura, April 2, 2026: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan inaugurated his new office in Kotkapura with traditional religious ceremonies, seeking blessings of the Guru. The event witnessed the presence of MLA Amolak Singh, Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur, and SSP Pragya Jain, along with a large gathering of devotees.
On the occasion, the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib was held, followed by Gurbani Kirtan performed by Raagi Singhs, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Addressing the gathering, Speaker Sandhwan stated that his previous office was located in his native village, which caused inconvenience for people who had to travel there for small tasks. Keeping public convenience in mind, the new office has been established near the BDPO office in Kotkapura, where several other government offices are also situated, reducing unnecessary hassle for residents.
He emphasised that the primary objective of the Aam Aadmi Party government is to serve the people, and since assuming power, continuous efforts have been made for public welfare. He added that the Punjab government is regularly releasing funds to ensure the timely completion of development works across the state.
Highlighting key welfare initiatives, Sandhwan mentioned financial assistance of ₹1000–1500 per month for women to strengthen their economic independence and the provision of up to 600 units of free electricity to nearly 90% of households, offering significant relief to the public.
Several dignitaries, including Advocate Barinder Singh, Gurpreet Kaur Sandhwan, Chairman Gurmeet Singh Arewala, Chairman Amandeep Singh Baba, Chairman Gurtej Singh Khosa, SDM Sukhraj Singh Dhillon, BC Wing Punjab President Sukhjit Singh Dhilwan, OSD Sadhu Ram Kusla, OSD Maninder Singh, PRO Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal, and other local leaders and residents, were also present at the event.
