Railways announces weekly Amritsar–Barauni Summer Special Train
Ferozepur, April 2, 2026: To facilitate smooth travel during the summer season, Indian Railways has decided to run a weekly summer special train between Amritsar and Barauni.
Sharing the details, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini stated that Train No. 04610/04609 Amritsar–Barauni–Amritsar Weekly Special will operate for 13 trips in each direction.
Train No. 04610 will depart from Amritsar every Sunday from April 19, 2026, to July 12, 2026, at 20:10 hrs and will reach Barauni at 02:10 hrs after a journey of approximately 30 hours.
In the return direction, Train No. 04609 will depart from Barauni every Tuesday from April 21, 2026, to July 14, 2026, at 05:05 hrs and will arrive in Amritsar at 13:15 hrs after a travel time of around 32 hours.
During its journey, the train will halt at several important stations in both directions, including Beas, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Ludhiana (Dhndari Kalan), Sirhind, Rajpura, Ambala (Ambala Cantt), Yamunanagar (Jagadhri), Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sitapur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Sonpur, Hajipur and Shahpur Patori.
The introduction of this special train is expected to provide significant relief to passengers during the peak summer travel period.
