Surrey (Canada), May 3, 2026: A late-night firing incident at a café in Surrey, Canada, has sparked fresh concerns over the safety of Indian-linked businesses abroad after shots were reportedly fired at Chai Sutta Bar.
The incident occurred at the café located on 120 Street, adjacent to Kaps Cafe, an establishment associated with Indian comedian and actor Kapil Sharma.
No immediate reports of injuries have surfaced, but the firing has triggered alarm among local residents and the Indian diaspora in the region.
Following the incident, a message circulating on social media has gone viral, allegedly claiming responsibility for the attack in the name of the Bishnoi gang. The post reportedly warns the Chai Sutta Bar to shut down operations and issues threats extending to Kaps Cafe and Kapil Sharma’s residence in Mumbai.
Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the authenticity of the claim, and an investigation is underway to determine those behind the attack and the motive.
