Amritsar: Fire breaks out at Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed Ganj Sahib, no casualities reported

Amritsar (Punjab), May 27, 2026: A brief fire incident at the historic Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed Ganj Sahib created panic among devotees on Tuesday after tent sheets installed for shielding the congregation from the sun suddenly caught fire.
According to information, the fire erupted in the temporary tents set up within the gurdwara परिसर to provide relief to the sangat from intense heat. The blaze quickly spread to the cloth coverings, causing momentary chaos among those present at the site.
However, the situation was brought under control within minutes due to the prompt response of the gurdwara sewadars, who managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread further. Their quick action helped prevent what could have turned into a major incident.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the fire incident.
