“CM Di Yogshala” transforms Ferozepur into a hub of wellness as 20k people practise yoga daily
Ferozepur, June 15, 2026: The “CM Di Yogshala” initiative launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is encouraging people to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Under this campaign, regular yoga classes are being conducted at various locations across Ferozepur district, receiving an enthusiastic response from residents.
Sharing details, Deputy Commissioner Deepti Shikha Sharma said that “CM Di Yogshala” is not just a yoga campaign but a major step towards strengthening people physically and mentally. She informed that nearly 700 yoga classes are currently being conducted in villages, wards, parks and other public places across the district, where 83 yoga trainers are providing training in yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation.
The Deputy Commissioner said that around 20,000 people are participating in these classes every day and improving their health. The increasing participation of women, youth, senior citizens and students reflects the success of this initiative.
She said regular yoga practice helps maintain physical fitness, reduces mental stress and improves the efficiency of individuals. Yoga trainers are also educating participants about healthy diet, stress management and daily health care practices.
DC added that the Punjab Government aims to transform yoga into a people’s movement so that every citizen can enjoy a healthier life. The district administration is making continuous efforts to further strengthen and expand this initiative.
She appealed to residents to join nearby yoga classes and practice yoga regularly to contribute towards building a healthier Punjab. She informed that if a group of at least 25 people from any locality or village wishes to start a yoga class, they can give a missed call at 76694-00500 or contact 78888-40115.
