Rewari, June 18, 2026:
Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, A. Sreenivas, IAS, conducted an inspection of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activities being carried out in Rewari district on Thursday.
During his visit, he reviewed the field-level work being undertaken by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and transparency of the electoral roll revision process.
A. Sreenivas interacted with the BLOs and other election officials engaged in the revision exercise and took stock of the progress made under the ongoing SIR programme.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in voter registration and directed officials to ensure that every eligible citizen is enrolled while eliminating duplicate and ineligible entries in accordance with the provisions of election laws and guidelines.
The Chief Electoral Officer also reviewed door-to-door verification activities being conducted by the BLOs and stressed the need for extensive public outreach to facilitate maximum participation of citizens in the electoral roll revision process.
He instructed election officials to ensure that all eligible voters, particularly first-time voters, women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, are provided every possible assistance during the revision exercise.
During the inspection, A Sreenivas reiterated the commitment of the Election Commission to conduct a free, fair, transparent, and inclusive electoral process.
He urged officials to complete all revision activities within the stipulated timelines while adhering strictly to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
Senior district administration and election officials accompanied the Chief Electoral Officer during the inspection and apprised him of the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the SIR activities across the district.(Amrit)
