Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab, July 8, 2026: Senior Congress leader and former MLA Karan Kaur Brar has launched a sharp attack on Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, questioning his leadership and holding him responsible for internal discord within the party.
Speaking to reporters, Brar, daughter-in-law of former Punjab Chief Minister Late Harcharan Singh Brar, said that if she had been in Raja Warring’s position, she would have resigned long ago for the sake of the party.
“If I were in Raja Warring’s place, I would have submitted my resignation by now,” she said, adding that a leader should be willing to make personal sacrifices to strengthen the organisation. Instead, she alleged, Warring’s leadership has deepened divisions and infighting within the Punjab Congress.
Brar also questioned Warring’s electoral performance, pointing out that he had lost the election from his own constituency. In contrast, she praised former Punjab Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Charanjit Singh Channi, saying he has consistently won from his constituency and has maintained a stronger electoral record.
Karan Kaur Brar is regarded as a prominent Congress leader in Punjab and belongs to the political family of former Chief Minister Harcharan Singh Brar.
She represented the Sri Muktsar Sahib Assembly constituency as an MLA from 2012 to 2017.
Her remarks come amid ongoing political discussions over the Punjab Congress leadership, despite the party high command recently reiterating its support for Raja Warring as the state unit chief.
