8th Central Pay Commission Gains Momentum; Consultations with Employee Bodies on August 7 & 10

New Delhi, July 24, 2026: The 8th Central Pay Commission has scheduled interaction meetings with associations, federations and unions of Central Government and Union Territory employees in Delhi on August 7 and August 10, 2026.
According to a notice issued by the Commission, the meetings will initially be held for associations, federations and unions located or registered in Delhi.
Central Government and UT employee bodies that have already submitted their memorandums but have not yet interacted with the Commission, either in Delhi or in any State/UT, can seek an appointment for the upcoming consultations.
Eligible stakeholders have been asked to submit their requests by July 31, 2026, along with their unique ‘Memo ID’. The venue and timing of the meetings will be communicated subsequently by the Commission.
The Pay Commission has also announced that more such consultation meetings will be held in Delhi as well as in various States and UTs in the coming months. Details of these meetings will be updated on the Commission's website.
Stakeholders based outside Delhi-NCR will also be able to seek appointments for interaction with the Commission in their respective State/UT or a nearby State/UT.
The notice, dated July 23, 2026, has been issued by Abhay N. Sahay, Deputy Secretary, 8th Central Pay Commission.
The consultations are significant as employee associations and unions get an opportunity to present their demands, suggestions and concerns before the Commission as part of its deliberations on pay and related service matters of Central Government employees.
