Himachal: Una Bar Association to abstain from Court work on Aug 3 and 4

Una (Himachal Pradesh), August 1, 2026: The District Bar Association (DBA), Una, Himachal Pradesh, has decided to abstain from court work on August 3 and 4 in support of the ongoing protest by bar associations in Punjab and Haryana against the Legal Aid Defence Counsel Policy.
The decision was taken unanimously during a general house meeting of the DBA Una held on Saturday under the chairmanship of its president, Advocate Vivek Kumar Sahajpal.
According to a resolution issued by the association, all members supported the cause of advocates in Punjab and Haryana opposing the Legal Aid Defence Counsel Policy.
“As a token of support for the protest by advocates of Punjab and Haryana, the District Bar Association, Una, will abstain from court work on August 3 and August 4,” the resolution stated.
The association further decided that only proxy counsels would appear before the courts on the scheduled dates.
The resolution appealed to all members of the District Bar Association, Una, to support the call and adhere to the decision taken during the general house meeting.
The resolution was signed by DBA Una president Advocate Vivek Kumar Sahajpal and general secretary Advocate Rishabh Singh Jhajj.
