Sports competitions held in Ferozepur and Mamdot blocks under Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan
Ferozepur/Mamdot, September 8, 2026: The block-level sports competitions under the Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan 2026 Season-4, being organised by the Department of Sports in collaboration with the District Administration Ferozepur, commenced on the second day of the event at Lakkho Ke Behram and Dulchi Ke villages.
The competitions for Under-14, Under-17 and Under-21 boys were organised at the sports ground at Lakkho Ke Behram for Block Mamdot and at the sports ground at Dulchi Ke for Block Ferozepur. Kamaljit Singh Fauji, Block President of the Aam Aadmi Party, attended the competitions at Mamdot as the chief guest.
District Sports Officer Gurdeep Singh said that several competitions were conducted in different sporting disciplines. In athletics (long jump) at Block Ferozepur, Gurtamkal Singh secured first position, Abhijot second and Gurwinder third in the Under-14 category. In the Under-17 category, Gurbhej stood first, Shivraj second and Rahul third, while in the Under-21 category, Harsimrat Singh secured first position, Saman second and Harmandeep Singh third.
In volleyball, Kendriya Vidyalaya-2 secured first position and Das & Brown World School, Ferozepur, second in the Under-14 category. In Under-17 volleyball, Delhi Public School secured first position, Muktabagi Club second and DC Model School, Ferozepur, third.
At Block Mamdot, Government Senior Secondary School Dona Mattar secured first position in Under-14 kho-kho, while Government Senior Secondary School Gudder Dhindi secured first position in both Under-17 and Under-21 kho-kho.
In athletics (shot put), Jaskaran secured first, Gurpreet Valjot second and Arshdeep third in the Under-17 category. In Under-21, Joga Singh secured first position, followed by Sameer Sarari in second and Ketan Puri in third.
In kabaddi (National Style), Government Senior Secondary School Lakkho Ke Behram secured first position and Government High School Hamad stood second in the Under-14 boys category. In Under-17 boys, Government Senior Secondary School Gudder Dhindi secured first position, while Government High School Khundar Uttar secured second. In the Under-21 boys category, Government Senior Secondary School Gudder Dhindi secured first position.
DSO said that such competitions provide a platform for young players to showcase their talent and encourage them to pursue sports with greater enthusiasm.
Coaches of the Ferozepur Sports Department, DPEs/PTIs of the Education Department, teams from the Health Department and Security Department, members of village panchayats and other prominent persons were present on the occasion.
