Kapurthala youth killed in Armenia road accident

Kapurthala (Punjab), August 1, 2026: Jaswinder Singh, a young man from Sangojla village who lost his life in a road accident in Armenia, was cremated in his native village on Saturday amid an atmosphere of grief.
The mortal remains of Jaswinder Singh, son of Kulwinder Singh, were brought back to India from Armenia with the efforts of Rajya Sabha MP and environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal.
As the body reached Sangojla village, the family broke down in grief, while a pall of mourning descended over the village and surrounding areas.
A large number of family members, relatives, friends and village residents gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased. Mourners offered emotional tributes and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Family members thanked Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal for his efforts in facilitating the repatriation of Jaswinder Singh’s mortal remains from Armenia.
They said that the timely intervention made it possible for the family to bring their son back to his native village and perform his last rites according to Sikh traditions.
The cremation was held in Sangojla village in the presence of family members, relatives and villagers, who bid an emotional farewell to the young man.
