Uninterrupted 31,440 MTs wheat procured in Ferozepur
100 per cent payment made online to farmers in their accounts: DC
Ferozepur, 19 April 2024: There were continuous and uninterrupted 31,330 MTs of wheat in the procurement centres of Ferozepur district. All the procuring agencies have been instructed for hassle-free procurement, timely payment and prompt lifting of procured grains of individuals brought by farmers to the market to avoid spoilage of wheat procured due to sudden rains said, Rajesh Dhiman, Deputy Commissioner.
DC said, the district administration is committed to ensuring smooth procurement in the mandis with appropriate arrangements in the grain mandis. The smooth procurement and timely lifting of the crop is being carried out smoothly and no farmer is facing any kind of difficulty in the market.
He said, till April 17 evening, in total of 33,939 MTs of wheat had arrived in the purchase centres of the district, out of which 31,440 MTs have been purchased. He said that 5,185 MTs by Pangrain, 7,658 MTs by Markfed, 10,159 MTs PUNSUP, 7,268 MTs by PSWC and 1,170 MTs by private traders have been purchased. He said that 100 per cent payment of the purchased wheat has been paid to the farmers online. He appealed to the farmers of the district that after harvesting the wheat crop, they should mix the waste or crop residue in the fields instead of setting them on fire so that the environment can be saved from pollution.
DFSC Raj Rishi Mehra also urged the farmers to bring the dried crop to the grain market so that there is no problem in procurement. He said that there is complete provision of sheds, drinking water, electricity, lighting etc. in the mandis so that the farmers and labourers involved in the purchase of wheat may not face any problems.
