Rising Punjab initiative to transform industry: Minister Sanjeev Arora

SAS Nagar (Punjab), August 25, 2025: Punjab Industry, Commerce, Investment Promotion and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora said that the Rising Punjab: Suggestions to Solutions initiative will be a gamechanger for the state’s industrial growth.
Chairing an interaction with industrialists from Mohali, Patiala and Ropar, Arora announced the setting up of an independent authority for industrial infrastructure maintenance, with industrialists as members. “Our aim is to resolve issues in real time and ensure every facility for Punjab’s industries,” he said.
Highlighting Punjab’s progress, the Minister said the state has attracted investments worth ₹1.14 lakh crore in the last three and a half years, creating 4.5 lakh jobs. He announced that Mohali will host the three-day Punjab Investment Summit from March 13, 2026, bringing together global investors, NRIs and industry leaders.
Arora revealed that a ₹5,000 crore upgradation of power infrastructure is underway, with dedicated industry grids and a separate grievance redressal system on the anvil. He also spoke of easing building bye-laws, decongesting Airport Road, and promoting mechanical parking solutions.
The Minister said 1,200 acres in Rajpura have been earmarked for EV car manufacturing units, while Mohali will soon get a 10-acre Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre for large-scale business events.
Principal Secretary K.K. Yadav, Industry Director Surabhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa were among those present. Industrialists welcomed the state’s proactive measures, with P.J. Singh of Tynor Industries delivering the vote of thanks.
