All set for PCS main exam; 12 centres ready across Patiala

Patiala (Punjab), March 31, 2026:The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has completed all preparations for conducting the PCS (Executive Branch) Main Examination from April 1 to April 10 in Patiala.
PPSC Secretary Charanjit Singh said that under the leadership of Chairman Major General Vinayak Saini, elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth, transparent and fair examination process. A total of 12 examination centres have been established across the city.
The examination will be held in the afternoon session daily from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. To maintain strict supervision and transparency, senior IAS and PCS officers have been deployed as observers at each centre.
Elaborating on arrangements, the Secretary said biometric verification systems have been installed at all centres to ensure proper identification of candidates. Additionally, jammers have been deployed to prevent the use of electronic devices during the examination.
Comprehensive security and traffic management arrangements have also been put in place by the Patiala Police to facilitate the smooth conduct of the exams.
Around 4,200 candidates, who cleared the preliminary examination, are expected to appear for the main exam, which is being conducted to fill 331 posts, including PCS (Executive Branch) and other allied services in various departments of the Punjab Government.
