Five-day faculty induction programme for newly recruited teachers at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), July 14, 2025: Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, commenced a five-day Faculty Induction Programme for newly recruited teachers on the theme “Reflective Practices and Responsible Pedagogy: Foundation for Academic Integrity.” The Induction Programme was coordinated by Dr. Harneet Billing, Head, Department of Education.
She introduced the objectives and theme of the programme and highlighted how reflective practices and responsible pedagogy are essential in building a strong foundation for academic integrity and professional growth.
The programme was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prit Pal Singh. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the vital role of teachers in nurturing a culture of reflection, responsibility, and academic integrity. He encouraged the new faculty to contribute meaningfully to the University's mission of excellence in higher education.
Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, shared insights into the University’s structure, academic policies, and work culture, underlining the importance of aligning pedagogical practices with institutional values and ethical standards.
The inaugural session was attended by Prof.(Dr) Navdeep Kaur Dean Research, Prof. (Dr. )Tejbir Singh Registrar, and Dr. Sikander Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare, who addressed the participants on the importance of research ethics, administrative collaboration, and student well-being.
An ice breakibg session was coordinated by Dr Monika Airi and Dr Gagandeep Tiwana wherein the participants shared their aspirations and vision of being a teacher.
Over the course of five days, the programme will include interactive sessions on curriculum development, assessment strategies, mentorship, research promotion, and institutional responsibilities—preparing faculty to contribute meaningfully to a vibrant academic community.
