27 Teachers to Receive State Awards and Commendations on Teachers’ Day in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, September 4, 2025:
The Directorate of School Education, Chandigarh Administration has released the official list of teachers selected for the State Teachers Award and Commendation for the year 2024–25. The awards will be presented on September 5, Teachers’ Day, in recognition of outstanding commitment and exemplary contributions by educators in government, government-aided, and private schools of the Union Territory.
According to the order, the State Level Awards and Commendation aim to honor both meritorious achievement and dedicated service among teaching professionals. The list features teachers from across Chandigarh including principals, headmistresses, lecturers, TGTs, and PRTs representing government and private institutions.
Among those selected for the coveted State Award are:

Others have been named for the Commendation Award, including Sangeeta Gulati (GMSSS-10), Ritu Nangia (PGT, GMSSS-23YC), Rupinder Kaur (GHSS-53), and Deepali Garg (Sacred Heart Sr. Sec School-26), acknowledging their positive impact and devotion to students.
Additionally, Deerja Sharma (PGT, GMSSS-40B) has been recognized for a Lifetime Contribution to School Education.
The order notes that the awards serve not only to appreciate outstanding service but also to encourage continued efforts in promoting excellence in Chandigarh’s education sector.
The awards are scheduled to be conferred in an official ceremony on September 5, marking Teachers’ Day.
