CCT-CGC Landran organizes awareness session on POSH Act
Landran (Mohali), 8 Jan 2026- The Department of Computer Applications, Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran, successfully organized an Awareness Session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, in campus, with the objective of fostering a safe, respectful, inclusive academic and professional environment. The session aimed to sensitize CGC Landran’s faculty members about the legal framework, rights, responsibilities and redressal mechanisms under the POSH Act. The session was graced by the presence of Ms. Surabhi Prashar, Hon’ble Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), SAS Nagar, who delivered an insightful and impactful address. She elaborated on the evolution and objectives of the POSH Act, emphasizing its core principles of prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment. The Hon’ble CJM provided a detailed explanation of the constitution, roles and responsibilities of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), along with procedures for filing complaints, inquiry processes, confidentiality norms, prescribed timelines, and consequences of non-compliance. The gathering was further honoured by the presence of Advocate Aarti Sharma, Panel Advocate, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), SAS Nagar. She enriched the session by sharing practical insights into the procedural and legal aspects of handling POSH-related cases, thereby strengthening participants’ understanding of compliance and implementation. The program concluded with the felicitation of the distinguished guests by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar, Director-Student Welfare, and Dr. Palki Sahib Kaur, Director Principal, CCT-CGC Landran. The POSH Act Awareness Session marked a significant step towards enhancing legal awareness, gender sensitivity and institutional accountability, reaffirming CGC Landran’s commitment to maintaining a safe, dignified, and inclusive campus environment.
