Job Alert: KVS invites applications for 2 Deputy Commissioner posts; Check eligibility criteria

New Delhi, October 25, 2026: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited applications for two Deputy Commissioner posts through direct recruitment. The vacancies are backlog posts reserved for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) and Scheduled Castes categories.
According to Employment Notice No. 05/2026, the posts fall under Group A and carry Pay Level 12, with a salary ranging from ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200, along with applicable allowances.
Of the two vacancies, one is reserved for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and the other for Scheduled Caste candidates. One vacancy is also horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in the visually impaired category.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a master’s degree from a recognised university with at least 50 per cent marks. They must also possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from an institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), with at least 50 per cent marks, or a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. degree with the same minimum marks.
Applicants must have at least three years of regular service as an Assistant Commissioner in academic governance in the education sector, or in an equivalent post, under the Central or State Government or an autonomous organisation under either government.
The required professional experience includes directing training programmes for teachers and administrators and/or conducting education research. Knowledge of computer applications is also essential.
Working knowledge of English and Hindi or another Indian language is desirable.
Pay Scale and Recruitment Details
The selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 12, with a pay range of ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200, besides applicable allowances.
The recruitment is intended to fill two backlog vacancies. Candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualifications, experience requirements and applicable category criteria.
