Who will be on the review committee examining Satluj OTT row?

New Delhi, July 7, 2026: The review committee constituted to examine the removal of Punjabi film Satluj from OTT platform ZEE5 will be chaired by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) and comprise senior officials from key Central ministries along with independent domain experts.
The panel will include ex-officio representatives, generally at the Joint Secretary level or above, from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
According to the framework, the MHA will assess issues related to national security, public order, and communal sensitivity, while the Law Ministry will examine constitutional aspects of free speech, legal precedents, and compliance with judicial directions.ill evaluate issues concerning India's international image and diaspora, particularly as the film remains accessible on ZEE5 Global.
MeitY will oversee the technical aspects of the digital takedown under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, while the Women and Child Development Ministry will review age classification and compliance with the Code of Ethics.
The commitThe committee will also include independent experts from the fields of media, digital content, and law to assist in evaluating whether the film violates the IT Rules' Code of Ethics.
