Rajoana Kalan (Khanna), November 20, 2024: Sikh prisoner Balwant Singh Rajoana has appealed to the Sikh community to unite.Balwant Singh Rajoana, who came out on parole to attend the funeral prayers of his brother Kulwant Singh Rajoana addressed the memorial service,
He said that in the past Sikh institutions have been weakened due to mutual conflicts. He said that he is not an orator and he does not know how to give a speech, but he will do what is in my heart.
He said that if our institutions are weak, injustice will continue to be done to us.
"On March 31, 2012, when I was ordered to be hanged, the Sikh community hoisted saffron flags on their houses and unitedly stopped my execution. Even after 12 years, no decision has been taken in his case. They said that they have been locked in the gallows for so many years but the case is not being decided," he said.
He said that what he did, he has admitted in the court. He said that he never appealed against the death sentence. He said that he is only seeking a verdict on the case.He added said that the government is asking him to fight the case in the court as his own lawyer.
He thanked Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia and others for joining the Bhog function.
