Chandigarh reports 1275 new COVID cases and 2 deaths

Chandigarh, January 18, 2022:
Chandigarh reported 1275 new COVID-19 positive cases on Monday. Two deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 9578.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 5805 samples. As per the figure, 1091 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 79767.

Discharged Patients:-
Today 799 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 7 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
COVID Deaths:-
- A 76 year old COVID positive male resident of Sector 38 West, a case of Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome expired at Grecian Super-Specialty Hospital, Mohali. He was unvaccinated for COVID.
- A 72 year old COVID positive male resident of Dhanas, a case of Hypertension and Renal Failure expired at GMSH-16. He was unvaccinated for COVID.
