Drug Control Dept conducts three raids, seizes banned medicines
Ferozepur, February 4, 2026: The Drug Control Department, Ferozepur, conducted inspections at medical stores across the city following a secret tip-off and seized banned and controlled medicines from three shops of Rs.90,694 value. The action was led by Drug Control Officer Sonia Gupta as part of an ongoing drive against the illegal sale of narcotic and restricted drugs.
During the inspection, a decoy customer was sent to Naresh Medicine Store, where the shopkeeper was found selling MTP kits illegally. As the shopkeeper failed to produce purchase bills, 10 MTP kits worth approximately ₹7,000 were seized.

In another inspection at Baba Deep Medical Hall, Ahmed Dhundi, officials recovered seven varieties of restricted medicines, including Pregabalin and Tapentadol. A total of 198 capsules and 1,586 tablets worth ₹30,594 were seized due to the absence of purchase records.
Similarly, a raid was conducted at S.S. Medical Hall, Rao Ke Hithar, from where 1,800 capsules of Pregabalin 300, valued at ₹53,100, were seized for lack of valid purchase bills.
The Drug Control Officer stated that such enforcement actions against the illegal sale of intoxicating and controlled medicines will continue, and strict legal action will be taken against those found violating the law.
