Chandigarh, February , 2026: Ashwani Sharma, Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Punjab, on Tuesday strongly condemned the language used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu, stating that such remarks clearly reflect the Congress party’s bankrupt mindset.
Ashwani Sharma said that instead of maintaining seriousness and dignity in politics, Rahul Gandhi is attempting to hide his repeated failures by resorting to abusive and provocative language. He added that such conduct lowers the standard of political discourse and exposes the frustration within the Congress leadership.
Taking a sharp swipe at the Congress, Sharma remarked that the party does not need any opposition to defeat it. “Rahul Gandhi alone is enough to sink the Congress,” he said, adding that through his irresponsible statements and flawed policies, Rahul Gandhi is hollowing out the party from within. He pointed out that people across the country have recognised this negative politics, which is why Congress continues to face electoral defeats.
Ashwani Sharma said that Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu is working with full dedication for the development of Punjab and the nation, and personal attacks against him reflect the deep frustration of the Congress. He alleged that instead of addressing issues related to development and public welfare, the Congress has consistently chosen the path of personal attacks.
He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party is steering the country towards development, stability and a strong future, while Congress remains trapped in outdated thinking and dynastic politics.
Appealing to the Congress leadership, Ashwani Sharma urged them to maintain political decorum and focus on issues concerning the public rather than indulging in abusive and irresponsible language.
