Ferozepur Police auction of 156 unclaimed vehicles adds lakhs to Govt Treasury
Ferozepur, September 6, 2024 -Today, the Ferozepur Police successfully conducted an open auction of 156 unclaimed vehicles at the Police Lines in Ferozepur. This auction generated revenue in lakhs, with a total of ₹43,20,000 set to be deposited into the government treasury.
SSP Ferozepur informed the press that these vehicles had been occupying space at police stations for a long time and were auctioned by the Vehicle Disposal Committee today. Around 65 bidders participated in the auction, hailing from various places such as Kurukshetra (Haryana), Mansa, Ropar, Moga, and Ferozepur. All proper procedures were followed during the auction. It was also mentioned that excluding 18% GST, total revenue of ₹43,20,000 was earned, which will be deposited into the government treasury.
The auction involved unclaimed vehicles occupying space at locations such as Lakho Ke Behram, Mamdot, Ghal Khurd, Sadar Zira, and Mallanwala. As a result, Ferozepur Police benefitted by earning lakhs from this auction. The vehicles auctioned included a total of 7 bicycles, 15 scooters/mopeds, 95 motorcycles, 1 auto, 19 cars, 5 jeeps, 2 tractors, and 12 trucks.
