Name of three Punjabi short story writers announced for Dhahan Sahitya Inam 2024 of 51,000 Canadian dollars
Shahzad Aslam (Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan), Jinder (Jalandhar, Punjab, India) and Surinder Neer (Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir) made it to the final list.

Richmond, BC / Banga September 16, 2024- The names of the short story writers who have reached the final stage of the internationally renowned Dhahan Sahitya Inam 2024 of 51,000 Canadian dollars dedicated to promoting Punjabi literature have been announced.
Barjinder Singh Dhahan, the founder of Dhahan Sahitya Inam, informed that among the finalists of Dhaan Sahitya Inam 2024 are the story collection of Shahzad Aslam (Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan) "Jungal Rakhe Jag De", the story of Jinder (Jalandhar, Punjab, India). Includes the collection "Safety Kit" and the story collection "Taboo" by Surinder Neer (Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India).
One of these three story collections will receive a prize of 25,000 Canadian dollars while the two other will receive a Dhahan Literature Prize of 10,000 Canadian dollars each.
The honor will be conferred at a special ceremony on November 14, 2024, at the Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey, British Columbia. On this occasion, an award of 6,000 Canadian dollars will be presented for translating the winning books into Gurmukhi or Shahmukhi.
