Ferozepur Police bust major drug racket; 3 held with heroin, cash and car
Ferozepur, September 19, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, the Ferozepur Police, under the tutelage of Soumya Mishra, SSP, have dismantled a major drug racket, arresting three individuals involved in the illicit trade. Sharing details with the press, SSP emphasized the district police's commitment to eradicating anti-social activities and assured strict action against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order.
Acting on specific intelligence, the police team, led by Inspector Mohit Dhawan of the CIA Staff Ferozepur, conducted a successful operation against drug smugglers in the Samalsara area. The team, working under the guidance of SP(ID) Randhir Kumar and DSP(D) Varinder Singh Khosa, arrested three accused and seized 502 grams of heroin, Rs. 4 lakh in cash, and a black Hyundai car with registration number PB 46 AG 9347.
The operation was conducted on September 17, 2024, and a case was registered under the NDPS Act at Lakhon Police Station. The accused were apprehended in the presence of Satnam Singh, DSP Guruharsahai.
The police are continuing their investigation and plan to present the accused in court to seek police remand.
SSP reiterated that the district police are dedicated to combating criminal activities and have formed special teams to tackle such issues promptly. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the drug network.
