Ferozepur steps up cleanliness drive with special initiatives
Ferozepur, April 6, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma has launched a special initiative to improve cleanliness across cities and towns in the district under the directives of the Punjab government. The initiative includes morning and night sweeping, regular cleaning of drains and streets, and repairing streetlights to provide residents with a cleaner and healthier environment.

Highlighting the efforts, the DC stated that special measures are being taken for city sanitation, sewer cleaning, garbage collection, and waste management. Regular morning and night sweeping is being carried out in commercial areas of Ferozepur, Zira, Talwandi Bhai, Guru Har Sahai, Mallanwala, Makhu, Mamdot, and Mudki to ensure that waste is cleared overnight, providing a clean atmosphere for residents and shopkeepers in the morning.
In addition, the municipal staff are conducting door-to-door awareness campaigns on cleanliness and collecting feedback from residents. Public grievances related to sanitation are being addressed promptly.
DC also urged the people of Ferozepur to actively support this campaign by maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, segregating household waste, and handing it over to designated sanitation workers. Residents were also advised against burning or dumping waste on streets, alleys, or vacant plots.
