Chandigarh, April 7, 2025: Arvind Khanna, Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab unit and former MLA, has accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of spreading hypocrisy in the name of an “education revolution.”
In a statement issued today, Khanna said that the AAP government is trying to cover up its failures by forcing teachers in the education department and employees in the health department to promote ministers’ activities on their personal social media accounts. He alleged that, for the first time, the government is portraying even minor activities such as wall repairs and toilet inaugurations as major achievements.
Questioning Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, Khanna asked, “If they are genuinely working for public welfare, why must they compel their subordinates to promote their actions on social media?”
Khanna further alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has squandered Punjab’s treasury to serve the interests of his political mentor, Arvind Kejriwal.
“The people of Punjab will give a fitting reply in the 2027 Assembly elections,” he added.
He criticized the AAP's attempts to project Arvind Kejriwal — whom he described as a failed leader from Delhi — as a hero in Punjab. “The people of Punjab will never accept this imposed leadership,” Khanna said.
He concluded by stating that the Punjab government is well aware of its failure to meet public expectations and is now resorting to misleading the public through social media propaganda.
