Ferozepur teen invents to monitor Vehicle Fuel Theft Detection device
Ferozepur, September 14, 2024: Harkirat Singh, a 16-year-old boy in the 10th class in Dass and Brown School in Ferozepur, has invented a device that accurately measures the amount of fuel added to a vehicle’s tank and alerts the owner in case of theft via mobile notifications.
Harkirat Singh shared that the idea for the device came to him two years ago when he suspected that less petrol was being added to his vehicle than claimed. After discussing the idea with his teacher, he spent a year developing the project. The device has now been selected at the district and state levels and will be showcased at the National Inspire Manak Award Exhibition. If selected there, it will move on to the international level.
The device involves coding and is still being updated with new features like eSIM insertion in the fuel tank.
Harkirat said I am still thinking of making an improved version before presenting at the national level. This device works on sensors and is not available on any selling app. Initially, it will cost Rs.600 to Rs.700 and in bulk production; its cost will be reduced after getting it patented.
He expressed his aspiration to become a software developer in the future and hopes to get clearance for the international level to present my device in Japan. In the event of its acceptance, it will be added to the design for all the vehicles.
Harkirat’s teacher, Umesh Bajaj, confirmed that the project will be presented at the National Inspire Manak Award Exhibition after its selection at the district and state levels.
