  Chandigarh, May 4, 2026: Former IAS officer Dharampal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, marking his formal entry into politics.
  
  He was inducted into the party in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, with senior BJP leaders and workers welcoming the move.
  
  Dharampal, who has also served as an advisor to the Punjab Governor, brings extensive administrative experience. His entry is being seen as a strategic addition for the BJP amid shifting political dynamics in Punjab.
