Haryana gears up for Civic Polls; Voting on May 10

Chandigarh, May 4, 2026: The Haryana State Election Commission has announced that general elections for three Municipal Corporations, one Municipality, and three Municipal Councils will be held on May 10, with polling scheduled from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
A spokesperson clarified that voters whose names appear in the electoral rolls will be allowed to vote even if they have not received their Voter Photo Identity Cards.
Such voters can use alternative photo ID proofs, including Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, PAN Card, government-issued service IDs, bank or post office passbooks with photos, MGNREGA job cards, ration cards, and other valid documents approved by the Presiding Officer.
The Commission also stated that distribution of voter slips has been completed in most areas, and officials have been directed to ensure timely delivery in the remaining locations.
Urging maximum participation, the Commission appealed to citizens to cast their votes and contribute to a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.
