Gaurav Manik elected new President of Press Club Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 9, 2026: In the elections held for the 2026-27 session of the Ferozepur Press Club, noted Daily Post TV journalist Gaurav Manik was elected as the new President of the club. He secured victory over his rival Bobby Khurana by a margin of just one vote in a closely contested election.
As per the annual tradition, a meeting was organised for the election of the President of the Press Club. During the voting process, 43 members cast their votes directly, while four members exercised their voting rights through power of attorney. Two candidates, Gaurav Manik and Bobby Khurana, contested for the post.
The election witnessed a neck-and-neck contest. Out of a total of 47 votes, Bobby Khurana secured 23 votes, while Gaurav Manik emerged victorious by securing one additional vote.
On this occasion, former President of the Press Club Mandeep Kumar alias Monty congratulated Gaurav Manik on his victory. He stated that democratic elections are conducted in the Press Club every year. Monty also thanked the club members and executive committee for their support during his tenure and apologised for any shortcomings during his term.
After his victory, Gaurav Manik said that he had been entrusted with the great responsibility of leading the Press Club and assured members that he would work to raise the voice of every journalist associated with the club. He said priority would be given to the welfare and development of the club, and with the support of the new team, efforts would be made to take the activities of the Press Club to greater heights.
He further added that new ideas and suggestions from members would be encouraged so that the club could emerge as a stronger and more meaningful platform for journalists.
