Gurdaspur/Kalanaur, June 2, 2026: A powerful blast rocked in a private hospital in Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district. Incident occurred today afternoon when unidentified attackers entered hospital and hurled a bomb like item in emergency ward. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident.
Hospital MD Dr. SP Singh disclosed that blast was so powerful that it voice was heard to distant places. He said that those who had carried out attack have been captured in CCTV footage.
He said that he was getting extortion calls since last one year and he had apprised police about this in writing. He said that police had provided security to the hospital but it was subsequently withdrawn.
After the incident SSP Gurdaspur Aditya reached the spot with heavy police force and reviewed security. SSP disclosed that hospital and surrounding areas has been cordoned off and investigation was going on. Forensic team has also arrived on the spot to collect evidence. SSP claimed that soon guilty will be arrested.
