The Punjab Government has appointed Randhir Singh as the Director and Chairperson of the Punjab State Container and Warehousing Corporation, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the state-owned corporation involved in warehousing, logistics, and container management.
Randhir Singh is a seasoned political figure who has remained active in Punjab's political landscape for several decades. Before this appointment, he was associated with the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, where he served as a General Secretary. In December 2020, during the nationwide farmers' agitation against the three central agricultural laws, he resigned from his position as General Secretary of the Punjab Congress, expressing solidarity with the concerns raised by the farming community.
His political journey began through the youth wing of the Congress party. Over the years, he held several important positions in the Punjab Youth Congress, where he gained recognition as an energetic grassroots leader and organizer. His involvement in youth politics helped him build a strong connect with party workers and the public across various regions of Punjab.
Known for his organizational skills and long experience in public affairs, Randhir Singh has remained actively engaged in social and political issues affecting the state. His appointment is being viewed as a significant administrative responsibility, reflecting the government's confidence in his leadership abilities and experience.
The Punjab State Container and Warehousing Corporation play an important role in strengthening storage infrastructure, facilitating agricultural and industrial logistics, and supporting trade-related activities across the state. With Randhir Singh assuming charge as Chairperson and Director, the corporation is expected to further focus on improving warehousing facilities, modern logistics systems, and efficient management of storage and transportation services in Punjab.
