Hariawal Punjab holds ‘Environmental Conservation Awareness Program’ at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 21, 2025: Hariawal Punjab organized a dynamic environmental awareness program at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, led by National Convener Gopal Arya, alongside Dr. Chander Parkash from Delhi, Vibhag Sanyojak Sunil Behal, State Co-convenor Ashok Behal, District Convenor Tarlochan Chopra, and Moga District Convenor Deepak Kumar.
The event brought together social activists, local NGO representatives, and passionate environmentalists to discuss Hariawal Punjab’s ongoing initiatives. Participants actively engaged, sharing innovative ideas to protect and preserve the environment.
In his address, Gopal Arya urged attendees to embrace the role of “Paryavaran Prahari” (Environmental Guardians). Highlighting the critical need for water conservation and environmental stewardship, he emphasized humanity’s responsibility to protect nature’s free gifts—clean air, water, and food—for future generations. Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic’s reliance on oxygen cylinders, Arya underscored the priceless value of natural resources.
Arya outlined a three-pronged strategy to drive change: fostering public awareness, encouraging widespread participation, and transforming environmental conservation into a mass movement. “We can survive without luxuries like petrol or milk, but not without fresh air and water,” he said, calling for a shift in societal attitudes and lifestyles. He stressed that the goal is not just to plant trees but to sow the seeds of environmental consciousness in every individual’s heart and mind.
Arya also called for collaboration among educational, religious, and social welfare organizations to amplify the movement’s impact and spread the message of sustainability across society.
The event concluded with participants receiving eco-friendly jute bags as a token of appreciation, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable practices.
