Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) to get new Chairman

Chandigarh, October 18, 2021: Channi government of Punjab has decided to appoint 1986 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service officer Mr. Jagbans Singh as new Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
The Punjab Cabinet in its meeting held here today, gave approval to send the recommendations for appointment of Mr. Jagbans Singh as new Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
Who is Jagbans Singh
Shri Jagbans Singh, belonging to the 1986 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, took charge as Director General of National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA), Shimla on 9th August, 2018. He is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. Before joining the Academy, Shri Jagbans Singh was the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Punjab at Chandigarh. He had earlier served in the Academy as a Deputy Director and Joint Director during 1993-95. His other postings in the Indian Audit & Accounts Department have been to the offices at Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Washington D.C., Gangtok and Chandigarh. He has also been on deputation as Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer in Bhakra Beas Management Board, Chandigarh under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
