Railway recovers ₹7.51 Lakh from 1,151 ticketless passengers
Ferozepur, July 8, 2025: A special ticket checking campaign was conducted in the Ferozepur Rail Division on July 7. Under this campaign, strict action was taken against travelling without a ticket, irregular travel and violation of ticket rules.
During this campaign, irregular passengers were caught in a total of 1151 cases, due to which revenue of ₹7.51 lakh was collected in a single day during the checking in nine trains. This checking was done mainly in trains 12238 (Begampura Express), 13006 (Amritsar-Howrah Mail), 15708 (Amrapali Express), 12920 (Malwa Express), 12926 (Paschim Express), 19223 (Jammu Tawi Express), 19224 (Sabarmati Express), 19226 (Jammu Tawi-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express), 20423 (Patalkot Express), 13308 (Ganga Sutlej Express).
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini appealed to the railway passengers to always travel with valid tickets so that they do not have to face any kind of inconvenience or penalty. He said that such checking campaigns will continue regularly in future also.
