Rs.46.85 lakhs loan fraud using fake documents unearthed at SBI; 5 booked
Ferozepur, July 1, 2025: A major loan fraud involving the use of fake documents and forged identities has surfaced at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch on Icche Wala Road in Ferozepur. Acting on court directions, FIRs have been registered against five individuals in connection with the case.
Rahul Mohan, the branch manager of SBI, declined to provide details regarding the exact nature of the fraud. However, as per the information, the accused have been identified as Sunit Devi of Kaithal (Haryana) for Rs.10 lakhs fraud, Prerna of Adampur, Hisar (Haryana) of Rs.9.33 lakhs, Sanjay Kumar of Kaithal (Haryana) of Rs.10 lakhs, Kusam Rani of Pehowa, Kurukshetra (Haryana) of Rs.9.43 lakhs and Kiran Bala of Fatehabad (Haryana) of Rs.8.09 lakhs They have been booked under Sections 318(4), 336(2), 337, 338, 336(3), and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The said five have defrauded the bank of Rs.46.85 lakhs by obtaining a loan by using forged documents.
The investigation is currently underway, led by Investigating Officer Jatinder Singh. No arrests have been made so far.
