  CHANDIGARH, November 23: Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Capt Amarinder Singh today rejected all the allegations leveled by the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Chief Minister son Sukhbir Badal against his party (the Congress) saying both of them were suffering from congenital obsession of Congress phobia. â€œBetter change your mool-mantra of anti-Congressism now as people are no longer prepared to buy itâ€, he told Badals. Referring to Sukhbirâ€™s challenge to hold a rally at the same venue, Capt Amarinder told him, â€œyou know it better that holding a rally is no big deal for me and for that I really donâ€™t need to import people from Haryana and force the state officials including the police personnel to attend it, but let us take a spontaneous and direct popularity test among the masses and see who gets flowers and who gets thrashing of his life, if not stoned and lynchedâ€. He said that most of the people at the rally had either been imported from the neighbouring Haryana or they were the state officials. â€œMoreover, your popularity is at full display in the police stations and detention centres across the state where you have detained thousands of innocent people in apprehension and fear that they might spoil your show by protesting against your excesses and atrocitiesâ€, he taunted the Badals. Taking a dig at Sukhbirâ€™s claims of 25 years rule, he said, not only will the people of Punjab throw out the Akali-BJP government in 2017, but they will also ensure that the modern day â€˜mahantsâ€™ and â€˜massandsâ€™ headed by the Chief Mahant, Parkash Singh Badal are thrown out of the SGPC and all other sacred institutions are rid of him. Referring to Badalâ€™s speech, Capt Amarinder said, it was a classic combo of ageing and dementia together where the person forgets his present and only recalls his past. He pointed out, instead of talking about the incidents of sacrilege, killing of peaceful people, framing of innocents and punishment to the culprits, Badal was not able to come out of 1984. â€œNot surprisingly he even forgot the apology he had offered to tender a week agoâ€, he remarked about Badal. Capt Amarinder said, no matter how hard the Badals try to deflect the attention from their failures, people of Punjab will not forgive them for what they have done to the state. â€œTheir only achievement has been to enrich themselves by billions of rupees by grabbing every profit making business, while making the state and its people including the farmers, industry, traders and others bankruptâ€, he said. The former Chief Minister asserted that people have not forgotten that they pushed Punjab to bankruptcy with over Rs 1.25 lakh crores debt, widespread drug addiction that has destroyed an entire generation, closure of the industry, destruction of farming, devastation of trade, no avenues for employment and so on. â€œIf you think by harping on your mool-mantra of anti-Congressism you will get away with all your sins you are badly mistakenâ€, he told Badals, while adding, people are just waiting for 2017 when they will chase you to finish. He said, while the chase has already begun with Akalis either hiding or running away, it will be brought to the logical conclusion at the time of voting in 2017. Reacting to Sukhbirâ€™s challenge to list his achievements, Capt Amarinder said, â€œlet me remind you that your father had accepted Rs 2 crores from his friend and Haryana Chief Minister Devi Lal in 1977 to construct Satluj-Yamuna Link Canal despite knowing well that Punjab did not have any water and I saved that water for Punjab by bringing in a lawâ€. Besides, he added, he had released the list of his achievements not once, but several times and he can again refer to them. â€œBut, you list your achievements other than amassing wealth and constructing seven star hotels everywhereâ€, he challenged Sukhbir.
