Chandigarh, July 09, 2020: Acknowledging the work of Anganwari workers, who won 164 silver and bronze badges by continuously sensitizing people about the ill-effects of Corona pandemic and its precautions under Mission Fateh, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today appealed to the Anganwari workers, helpers and supervisors to continue their fight against this fatal disease and to create awareness amongst the people of the state.
In a press communiqué issued here, Mrs. Chaudhary apprised that so far, most of the Anganwari workers and supervisors from all over Punjab, have bagged a total 31 silver and 133 bronze badges under the month long ‘Mission Fateh’, Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh’s most desirous campaign. She said that Anganwari workers and helpers have been distributing masks to the people and providing nutritious food to the children and pregnant/lactating women by visiting door to door during the lockdown period.
“Under Mission Fateh, Anganwadi workers have conducted aggressive door to door awareness campaign to aware people against the COVID-19 epidemic and urged people to continuously wash their hands, wear masks and follow social distancing protocol to prevent Corona disease”, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that especially women and children were made aware of the importance of proper hand washing for at least 20 seconds, proper wearing of masks and to maintain social distancing protocol. She further said that workers and helpers were also urging the people to download the COVA mobile app on their mobile phones to stay away from the COVID victims as well as to prevent themselves from this epidemic besides getting instructions issued by the health department time to time.
Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that workers were also distributing pamphlets to educate people about the ways to prevent this disease and organizing awareness rallies.
