Ludhiana (Punjab), July 5, 2025: Senior BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal has strongly reacted to reported death threats allegedly received from Pakistan-backed operatives Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Harvinder Singh Rinda.
In a press statement, Grewal called for national unity and firm action against such cross-border propaganda, stating that attempts to intimidate voices committed to Indian nationalism would not succeed.
Grewal, who has served the BJP for over 35 years, said that digital threats and provocative messages from individuals backed by hostile agencies should be treated with utmost seriousness. He emphasized that such actions are not just personal threats, but direct challenges to the sovereignty and security of the country.
“These are not ordinary messages — these are international acts of cyber terror aimed at weakening our institutions and disturbing social harmony,” Grewal said.
He further mentioned that he has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting a detailed investigation by the NIA and digital forensic experts.
The BJP leader also stressed that groups like SFJ should be recognised internationally for what they are. "This is not a movement of freedom but a digital platform of terror being operated by foreign handlers," he stated.
Grewal urged the government and people to adopt a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism in all forms and expressed his resolve to continue raising his voice in defence of national unity.
“I’ve faced threats in the past, but I’ve never backed down. This is not about me — this is about our country,” he concluded.
