Ludhiana (Punjab), July 5, 2025:In a major relief to the residents of Ludhiana, the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) will be shifted from its current congested premises at Akashdeep Complex, Gyan Singh Rarewala Market, to a spacious, modern facility at Global Business Park, G.T. Road, near Jalandhar Bypass, Village Bhora. The new center will be operational from July 7, 2025.
This long-pending demand has been fulfilled due to the persistent efforts of Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs, Sanjeev Arora, who had consistently followed up with the Ministry of External Affairs over the past two years.
Arora, who previously served as a Rajya Sabha MP, began pursuing the issue as early as February 3, 2023, through official correspondence with the External Affairs Minister. He followed up with letters on March 17, October 29, December 20, and again on February 5, 2025, highlighting the poor infrastructure, lack of parking, and inadequate waiting facilities at the existing PSK location.
In response, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on February 28, 2023, that the relocation process was underway. Arora's continued engagement helped expedite the process, culminating in the new PSK being readied at a more accessible, well-equipped venue.
“I am deeply satisfied that my consistent efforts over the past two years have finally yielded results,” said Sanjeev Arora. “The earlier location was completely inadequate — no basic amenities, no parking, and a highly uncomfortable experience for citizens. I took up this issue relentlessly because the people of Ludhiana deserve better.”
Arora expressed confidence that the new Passport Seva Kendra will significantly enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and offer a more dignified and citizen-friendly environment.
He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing public issues with urgency and sincerity, stating, “This is just one step. I will continue to work towards resolving other long-standing civic concerns of the people.”
