Jalandhar, July 14, 2020: As part of its drive to sensitize the people to not to allow stagnation of water, clean the water storage tanks, coolers and waste containers daily under 'Mission Fateh' program of the state government, the health department on Tuesday conducted the drive against vector-borne diseases in various parts of the city.
The members of the anti-larva cell including Mr Vinod Kumar, Mr Shakti Gopal, Mr Sher Singh, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Sukhjinder, Mr Tarlochan Ram, Mr Jaswinder, Mr Amit and others carried out door to door drive in Bhagat Singh Colony, Barring, Raj Nagar, Lambra and various wards of the civil hospital.
All of the four cases were found in Bhagat Singh Colony and Barring. During the checking, the teams visited 150 houses and inspected 70 air coolers and 224 waste containers.
Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar said the teams' members sensitized the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others so these must be cleaned regularly.
