Punjab BJP president demands FIR against Ravneet Bittu, to burn effigy of MP in every district. Watch video
Chandigarh, December 29, 2020: Slamming Congress MP Ravneet Singh for his recent comment on farmers agitation, State BJP president Ashwani Sharma has demanded an FIR against the former and announced that the party will hold indefinite dharna till their demands are not met.
Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu recently got himself in controversy for his statement on farmers’ protest.
“Will pile up corpses if farmers' demands are not met,” Bittu has said.
“Is Congress not satisfied with the people who have lost life in 1984? Do Bittu’s comments reflect the mindset of the Congress party,” he asked.
Interacting with the media during the press conference, he said, "Tomorrow, we will file a complaint against Ravneet Singh Bittu in the SSP office of every district headquarter of the party. We demand Punjab DGP to lodged FIR against Bittu,”
He further informed that the party will also burn the effigies of Bittu in every district on Wednesday.
Sharma informed that from January 2 onwards, the party will hold an indefinite dharna in Ludhiana till their demand for FIR are not met by the police.
“I will start the dharna myself on January 2. The dharna will start every day in the morning and continue till afternoon,” he said.
The party also demanded the FIR against all those whose name the party members have given to Punjab DPG.
“If the police fail to complain all those whose name we have given for Bathinda incident within 7 days, we will start indefinite dharna there too,” he said
He also slammed the police on the Bathinda incident where few people ransacked the BJP gathering. Sharma condemned DGP Dinkar Gupta and called him ‘boneless’ for police poor handling of the situations
Three days ago, some people who identified themselves as farmers ransacked BJP function organized on the birthday anniversary of former PM Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
“In around 27 places where the party members and supporters were listening to PM’s address, the police entered the function site and stop it midway. What sort of democracy is that? We strongly condemned such behaviors,” he said.
